Anything is possible, it all depends on ability and money, but one begs the question WHY? :?

At least you could have said a 6 cylinder Turbo Diesel from a 740 or something but a 340 !

Hi Louey,

Here in sweden the Volvo conversion is very common. People get tired of the 2,1 WBX engine which dont last long in the cold climate like minus 20 or 25.
The following eninges have been build in (B19 , B20, B23, B230) . The rebuild is quite simple according to a few owners i spoke.

problem is that engine needs a lot of air, they tend to get warm in the back of the T3 . For the B23 you will need to raise your engine decklid.

I havent heard of the 6cyl diesel conversion but djee that engine must be heavy...

.. and some of the SA crowd seem to like putting Toyota CT diesels in, big and heavy though - must in plentiful supply and have a good rep.

U cant beat the toyota 2.2 td for reliability. And when u can purchase the apropriate bellhousing for a small sum over the counter( including cross member) it is a very feezable conversion.
The conversion list back in SA is endless.

Thanks Russel,

That's an oft forgotten conversion, and the capacity sounds about the right mark for a heavy camper. Am I right in saying that its considered a bit heavy though?
