Rear middle repair panel

Hi all uncovered some rot in this panel just under were the cover goes for the sliding door can get the panel for about 40 quid anyone ever fitted one before 40 pound seems a bit cheep cheers mac.

I made one from scratch 'cos the panel was not availible at the time. Had to make it in 2 sections as only have a 2ft folder. Few pictures here:

It wasn't that hard to do so with the panel it should be a doddle. Just make sure you have a good reference for the slider rail to go back on. I'd drill the spotwelds on slider rail all the way through, remove it, replace panel, drill through the new panel from inside in 2/3 place bolt slider rail in and weld it up, job jobbed

cheers great photos just showed me a problem the panel i was going to get is the same as yours so most of the rust is futher up have to have a rethink cheers .

Should be able to get a local sheet metal firm to make you a section up fairly easily, they probably won't be able to do the recessed bit on front end but could get most of it done quite easily. Or chop one out of another van.

Hi mcalfie - I have the same problem on my van (both sides - double slider

). Where did you find a replacement panel?
