Ive been looking at this on line

Does anyone have an experience of outwell as a brand. it seems a reasonable item with a well thought out design and removeable zip out ground sheet. This is the new 2010, but sure it cant be that different to their old stuff.

Well not an awning but a tent and I have nothing but praise for it's quality, build and design....the best I've owned and I have owned quite a few over the years. The tent actually has similarities to this awning....

Agree with Westie, I've had an Outwell tunnel tent for 9 years now and still going strong. Very good quality.

I think its going to be a winner.
Not as fast to erect as some others but has all the features i wanted.

You can get the awning, footprint and carpet (yes Outwell awning carpet!) for 280 quid.

Now just have to wait for deliver of the '10 stock.

Alastair, if i were you i would get a roll out awning and keep your living space easy and with the van and the weather out of your sliding door. When you have bought a drive away number, put it up, what the hell are you going to do in it?

I think both have their merits....we have an roll out F45i Fiamma for camping when we know it's 1-2 nights but for anything longer where we want to free up the space in the van and have somewhere out of site to store stuff the full awning comes out. Admittedly the roll out does get more use but for long stays you can't beat the proper awning.

Its horses for courses Jed.

My preference is for dry warm space to allow the little one to move around.
And in Scotland that means a fully enclosed space, a roll out, even with sides just doesnt give me what im after.
As time progresses and the family gets bigger, perhaps this will need a rethink. There seems to be a bouyant market for modern, good quality second hand awnings.

As said we have one, cos we have two girls under the age of 4 and they can play in it and be warm and dry
