Hi guys just had my first ride out in my 1.9 dg 1984 the temp gauge was not working so stripped it out got the temp gauge to work but now the flashing red light is on all the time any one know exactly what this warning light is for as all my oil and coolent levels seem fine?

the coolant level sender is on top of the header tank.. have the wire/s come off?
dirty contacts?
