Eberspacher outlet pipe replacement?

I ran the Eberspacher heater on our new Westy for the first time today, going camping in 2 weeks time and wanted to check that it worked...!

The good news is that it worked :D . The bad news......I checked under the van and the outlet pipe from the heater (the metal one that runs across the width of the van and exits on the nearside) is corroded in two places (on the bends) and as such is leaking fumes.

Obviously the leak isn't inside the van, but I do have concerns that the fumes aren't very safe  and will fill the awning apart from anything else..... So, does this outlet pipe have to be metal? Can I replace it in copper for example? Or, can it be a flexible plastic pipe?

Thanks in advance peeps....... :ok

as this pipe gets very hot.plastic is out of the question.best replace it with the correct eberspacher piping.also worth remembering the inlet and outlet pipes should be the same length.

Thanks for that Rob....

The reason I asked whether or not it could be plastic is that the outlet pipe I'm referring to (the one that runs across the van and the one that has the leaks in it) looks just like 22mm plumbing pipe. However there is a corrugated plastic pipe that connects it to the big main box (I presume the heater itself...?).

The fumes that are coming out of it look just like normal exhaust fumes, although I do appreciate that they are probably hot fumes.

So, does anyone out there have a link to Eberspacher spares at all?

Many thanks again...... :ok

Does the pipe look like this? Image I fitted a D2 eberspacher & welded to fit the length required. This is a spare stainless steel pipe OD 25mm that you could weld to your pipes.

I used some of the pipe in the pict to weld to my outlet & inlet for the D2 installation on my van.If you pay for the postage you can have it .
