Diesel Engine Options

Folks,
I'm looking at doing a conversion on my doka in the near future and want to start looking out for engines.
I would like the 110hp 1.9 TDi, but the main question i have, is there any real difference between VW's engines, as in VW, Seat, Skoda, Audi.
Anything in particular to avoid.
