Billy,
Did you have any problems with recovery? When we broke down in Spain it was down to Heather's telephone voice to get them to agree to repatriate. I guess the fact that you were willing to get it to a port helped but were they willing to transport you all the way.

Hi Owlets--I'm getting one from Dave at Shiplakes, Henly-on-Thames he has a good reputation on here £375 exchange 4 spd -me local Vdub wizard is takin box out Fri wk--then Im goin in me car Sat for the box & hes fittin it on the Mon-so fingers crossed---

Hi Dave!---I'm with Saga cos I'm over 50 their Motorhome plus breakdown cover is uk/con no vehicle age limit & no weight probs cos its motorhome specific--its done thru Greenflag & when you ring the international freephone-its them you get---I didnt want to be messin with French breakdown trucks & mechanics so I suggested that if I drove in 2nd the 10 miles to Cherbourg they could book me on't Portsmouth ferry--meet me & take me home---they seemed happy with that tho it may have been different if I'd bin in Spain or summat--

Billy,
I have my insurance through the NAAFI as I'm apparently a soldier (I've told them I'm not) which gives me full europe wide RAC recovery. Last year we broke down just after getting into Spain. The RAC were were great UNTIL I decided I didn't want the local mechanic to hit the engine with a hammer and can I please have my van repatriated. "I'm afraid it's old and we don't spend more than the van is worth" they said. "Do you know how much these are worth?" said Heather in her most assertive voice and a recovery was agreed! I must look at the SAGA package.
