As subject really!

They seem to be selling for slightly cheaper than Westies and are/were a long-standing company. A van I plan to go and see is a Devon pop-top so was wondering on people's views 1st.

is that the standard devon roof? ive seen some with the smaller 'straight-up' lid. Yours looks like a Devon Moonraker one? Much nicer in my opinion - they look SO roomy!

current van is a devon as was a previous one, cant really go wrong with them.. everything is where it should be , good use of space , and they're well comfy..

I prefer Autosleepers ,the layout and equipment, together with the quality of the furniture adds up to a lasting interior..

I liked the Devon best.....it has tons of useful cupboard sace, like Matt said, can sleep 3 kids up top no problems, ideal for a family - interior isn't the longest lasting, but it fares pretty well (original water carrier is in a silly place would be my major complaint about the design, second would be "who's idea was it that weetabix would make good cupboards?").

I have a devon and yes maybe the interior may be flaky ....I think after 26 years of use mine are in pretty good condition......

its the most common roof alex, and you can still get the canvas, which is a feature.....mine is demin and stonewash denim....
plan to re do the insides in denim too, ala a jeans beetle !

Yeah.. go on. You can't go far wrong with them. My interior is still in great nik after 24 years of use!

I like them, mine's an '82 and I think the interior has stood up pretty well, it's not perfect but I think it's seen a good bit of use.

I had a Type 2 Devon until a few years back and that was good too.

I'm with Kevtherev on this one our autosleeper is 23 years old we had it reupholstered apart from that original interior still good and solid sided rising roof warmer. But probably bodywork more important than interior? Nick.

I have a devon moonraker 1988

it has a stright up pop top but with jointed solid sides which is cool and very water tight.

after 18 years the insides are not too bad bit of flakey cuboards and fading of matterals.

the water tank is a pain in the a*ss as it sits on top of the engine cover so every time you need to get at the engine you have to pull the engine cover off with one hand and lift the water tank with the other.

My mate has got an auto sleeper which has a very good convertion which although all said i do like my convertion i would say has been a bit better thought out.

I had a 1979 Devon type 2 bay with the water tank under the van. You never knew how much water you had and you could bet you ran out of water just after the kids had gone to sleep. The only way to fill up was to have a spare can and take this to a top as the only way of filling up was to move the van to a tap.

I now have a Devon Type25 and I much prefer the water tank in the back even if it is on the engine cover. Firstly you can see how much water you have, secondly you can take it out and wheel it to and from the tap without moving the van off any ramps etc. and thirdly you can see how much crud you have in the tank and clean it out.
