Broken head stud

I have a Type 25 pickup which is fitted with a 1.9 engine and whilst removing the head to fit new push rod tubes one of the cylinder head studs broke, not a problem I thought and out came my stud extractor after about 2 whole rotations the stud jammed solid, I spent about a week sparing WD40 on it in a hope this would work but it didn't and after more attempts of trying with the stud extractor it broke (the stud extractor that is)

So I thought if I took out the stud next to the broken one I could get a better grip with a pair of pipe grips, but after about 3 - 4 turns this stud got jammed too, so I just put everything back together and just left it and that's how it is today.

Part of me is thinking just sell it and get rid of it and part of me wants to keep it specially as I'm just about to move house which needs building work done on it and my pick-up would be so handy for this work.

Does anyone have any tips on how to over come this problem????
it's the 2 top centre studs that are jammed, yes I've even tried heat and still no movment

Is it a case of stripping the engine and having the studs machined out or is this not possible??? :(

I have a receipt for an engineering firm who removed the snapped bolts when the previous owners reconned the engine. Heres how Sir Clive (harryman) describes the procedure.

--use plus-gas penertrating oil--I thought you could replace pushrod tubes with spring loaded ones--without removing heads- :?

Conveniently you're in North Somerset, so you can take your engine case to Piston Broke, who will remove your stud/s for you.

He's got Dan Buzzo's 2.1 case in there at the moment and he used to do loads of them when the T25s were more common.

You can find him here:

Piston Broke
Easton Business Centre, Felix Rd, Bristol, Avon BS5 0HE
Tel: 0117 941 2300

Inconveniently you'll need to drop the engine out of your van to get it done.

How much

How mush does he charge to remove a stud any idea???

If it's nice this Sunday I'll have another go if not I'll get the bloody engine out and give it a good kicking.
Looks like I''ll gave to strip it down worse comes to it.
