I've spent loads of time camping over there - in the whole of the Netherlands, in fact, rather than just Holland.

There of lots of nice sites around, - if you want to visit Amsterdam, look at Zeeburg or Gaasper. If you're venturing further afield - and I'd thoroughly recommend that you do - then camping de oosterdriessen near Maastricht is lovely, as is the town itself. The hoge veluwe national park is worth a visit, too - especially if you like cycling. Definately take bikes if you can - there are great cycle paths everywhere, you rarely need to ride in traffic at all.

If you want to be by the coast I can highly recommend Zeeland. Lots of small campsites. We found that if they are branded Mini camping then these are the quieter ones without chalets and static caravans.

Make sure you take the bikes, cycle paths every where and of couse flat as a pancake makes it almost effortless to get about.

Hello,

We went over for the christmas markets in 08 for 3 weeks and stayed on a site in holland but we found them very expensive by comparison to the places we stayed in France, Germany Luxembourg and Belgium, we had to pay for everything there was no hot water unless you payed for it for dishes, washing, showering etc and in december when the place was empty we were very surprised at how much it cost, but we could have been unlucky we ran off back to belguim. We have friend in Holland and they have a T4 they choose to go into other countries for that very reason.

We did love Sluis though I'd recommend visiting there on your way in, it's a beautiful little place.

You might be better off starting a new thread for this gimpey..
But basically it depends how long you've got, do you want to "see" France or just get to Spain as quickly as possible?
