Buzzer of Doom question?

Is there any point in replacing the oil pressure switch when the BOD raises it's ugly head? Oil pressure seems OK so I am assuming a problem further up the wiring loom.

Hi Fog
I had a similar problem, had pressure checked and everything was fine. I had a new switch from GSF and problem solved. I couldn't bare the sound of BOD it drove me insane.

if you think the pressure is ok then the q is is the switch sending the correct signal, so at 2k revs is there continuity to earth, chances are it's a bad connection on the wiring loom, often the plug onto the loom, or the flag connector on the switch itself.
If the switch does give continuity to earth at 2k rpm then it's a wiring fault, earth the flag connector and bod should be disabled, but if not then you'll have to trace it , there's a connection in the engine bay, a multiplug connector in the blackbox and the connection to the dash. If this all checks out then bod circuit faulty
difficult to check the op but it can be done

Pin 9 - green - Rpm signal
Pin 12 - yellow - 0.9 bar switch
pin 13 -blue(black stripe)---0.3 bar switch

assuming yours has the same wiring for the dash as post 86 vans

don't cut anything find out for sure if it's a wiring fault or a pressure issue, only if it's a wiring fault might you think about bypassing it, but even then only if you have an oil p guage on the dash otherwise how will you know engine isn't well, by the time the 0.3bar sensor tells you the engine is stuffed
