2nd Cooker on Underslung Lpg?

Hi All,

Not sure if this should be in the Camping section or not, but here goes:

I have a LHD Westy with underslung lpg tank that has the facility to run another feed off it as well as supplying gas to the interior cooker. I have the connector to attach to this, but my problem is that being a German inport all the stickers on the van refer to 50Mbar and it seems all uk camping cookers are 28mbar or 37mbar. Will this create a problem if I just hook up a UK cooker or will I need to get a regulator to bring the 50 down to 37 or 28? Or can I get 50mbar cookers, can't seem to find one on the web?

Thanks in advance.

Matt

There are lots of people on here running UK spec equipment WITHOUT an additional regulator , directly off the westy take off..me for one. I've been running my CADAC for over a year and have cooked on it dozens of times without any issues. It actually came with a spare reducing jet but after checking the flame I decided not to bother as it runs fine....not too hot and the flames don't appear any more intense than when running off a bottle with 28mb regulator. However...I do use a 5metre hose which may have something to do with it?

Hi

I use a gas barbie off the lpg tank without an additional regulator and all works fine ...it seems to use more gas than the cooker and fridge together but this is just a gut feeling rather than me having actual proof(flames look like they do using a regulated supply). Like Red Westie i use a good long hose.

Thanks Guys,

I guess I'll give this a go then. I suspect a long hose will be needed anyway as it will need to go from the take off under the van to the sliding door side where the awning is.
