Hi there,

Does anyone know whether it is possible/practical/safe to fit my spare wheel to the front of my T25 (in order to make space for gas cannister if it's converted to LPG).

Is there a bracket that would assist in doing this?

Any suggestions gladly received.

blocking the radiator would be my concern, if watercooled

Probably safter to mount it to the rear because if the spare sticks out further than the front bumper that will be the first thing that get hit on a head on collision and not the bumper itself which is designed to deform and spread the impact load, I know Bluebird do one for the bay window not sure if it will fit a T25 though. have a look near the bottom the the page in the link below.

The tank that fits in the spare wheel well is pretty small 43ltr, so will take around 35ltr of lpg.

I know the synros have rear wheel carriers but they are expensive.

Thanks for the advice - It's an Aircooled, so no concerns about the blocking the radiator. The collision aspect had occured to me - But I thought, "Better the spare tyre takes the impact than the front of the van". The problem with the back is that the rear door flips up and cannot hold it's own weight, let alone the added weight of a spare

rear mounted one swings out of the way when you want to open the tailgate. Its very nice, but very expensive. About £250 i think. Do a search on the forum quite a few pics of it on here

Any demand for the side mounted carriers at say £160 ?
