In the summer I fitted a second hand but good condition rear hatch to my 1983 1.6d van the original had the older type lock fitted, the newer hatch had the larger hole in it for the newer type lock, I have managed to get a newer type lock and it fits and operates well but the hole it fits through seems to be larger as if there is meant to be some sort of bezel as well that fits around the lock? should it have such a thing? if it does, does anyone know where they can be found?

PS the lock has a black plastic cover that sticks out of the hatch hole.

Thanks for the info I see that the lock featured is the early type of will the seal be t he same size as the later type as the hole in the door is larger?
