Finally had a day welding etc! ITS BEEN PAINTED!!!!

After a week or so since i ripped the interior out the van finaly got a day on it (tho did rain towards the end!)

Not finished in any way just yet, still to weld it up behind the cover panel, flap the welds down, skim it with filler but least i was able to get something done today!

p.s window is in my general for sale thread!

Cut a full panel out of another van, so its same thickness and the slight curve is in it, if you did it in sheet steel it would look wrong!

Ahh...Personally I,d of welded up the Heffalump with Mark in it ..then we'd all be safe... :lol: :lol:

What bit of the window that was left inside the van (had a cupboard half way) we never used and had a bit of silver screen allways on it so with the rust round the edges thought balls to it and took the window out !

The rust would have needed sorting all along the bottom of the window apature, and some of the trim panel clips were rusted out too so lot easier to replace the lot!

Probably easier than trying to weld in new steel to fix a rotten aperture, and then getting the window back in?

Exactly that tho the others have all to come out for welding!!!! Luckily done loads of those types of windows on army stuff!!

All cut out now and all most ready for some repair panels and then the new outer sill to go on!!
