body seams onnew vans

have noticed the seams on merc sprinters and transhites have what looks like a rubber strip between the panels,it looks nice and neat,any ideas what it is and if it would be any use to us?

seam sealer was used on our vans too at the factory
our panels were spot welded then sealed.
Are the merc panels bolted together?

spot welded too (i think) Seam sealer comes in a tube like silicone does, easy to use!

It gives me no end of satisfaction to see the rust on vans less than 10 years old, makes me feel very smug.

have seen some really ropey sprinters,bottom of doors all rusty and generally manky,would be most pi??ed off if they were mine,maybe t25 are better built considering how old they are

my vans due to go in to the garage where the old man works for so tlc

and they do a lot of work on mercs
and in the past merc have had a lot of problems with the seams on some newish vans???
