Sadly the Syncro i was going to buy has fallen through   , does any know what these fellas at Tristar in sweden are like, and what the vans tend to be like? as viewing is a tad difficult from the UK and i'd have to buy blind :)

I have bought parts from him and he was helpfull and they arived when he said they would. As for collecting things from him it is not that far a ferry from harich to esborg Denmark drive across Denmark and a 20 min ferry to swedend and your in the town that he sells from. Or you could take the long way like I did.

you could consider Busman.de. I got my 16" from him ( you can see it the other thread) was very "honest" as they say, that is, some dings and dents (as discribed) but no nasty suprises, and he is linked to Syncronutz as well.

Also you have that bulli barn place near you, they import T25s and have Syncros in somtimes i believe

I dont think Sweden is in the EEU if this makes any difference. That engine the van has sounds interesting and if i were to turn it into a camper i recon this bloke would take an offer on this 2wd van http://www.brick-yard.co.uk/forum/t3-hi ... 48600.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; The van is a shed but the units are well nice, bit like this one inside, https://club8090.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=62895" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; nick the roof off it, break the rest and get most of the dosh back from the 2wd van and you will have a very nice Syncro camper for around the £4000 mark

Got my van from Patrick in Tristar, who is a gentleman, and very happy with it. Also its a nice drive back although easier to pick it up from the ferry :ok Try and establish where it was mainly driven, N Sweden or South as in the south they use salt on the roads which wil corode the body. Swedish Syncros also have some nicce features such as heated seats, always on headlights, winter engine heaters, and possibly more underbody protection as part of their country package methinks :ok

it dose look like an intresting engine swap, but i think that i would have to change the exaust, becouse from what i have seen it gos towards the front of the van in to a first silencer then back to the back of the van in to a second silencer. looks a little vunerable for off road use. i am sure that i would be possible to make something incorperating vw petrol silencer, but at the that price it is well worth a look. be intresting to find out how it compairs to a waterboxer for power, torque, drivabilty and MPG.

What I meant to say was ..... Sweden is in the EU all right. Its Norway that isn't. OK Sweden, you can relax now. Was that a George Bush moment?
