hazard light switch

should my hazard warning light switch flash on the dashboard when activated,i have a 1984 t25,my mechanic told me it would fail the mot if it didn't?????????????????????????????

yes it should and yes it will fail an mot

if the hazzards are ok then pull the switch out and check the connections

if your indicator lamp flashes with the hazzards , ignition on or off then no problem.

there are 2 types of hazzard switch , early and late!

its possible the only difference is the lamp is always illuminated slightly on older vans , cant remember for certain tho.

theres more connections and a resistor on the later type.

have you changed your switch recently?

also pre april 86 vehicles do not require a hazzard warning device so you can remove/ hide the switch to pass an mot ( although due to the simplicity of the system you may as well fix it)

i replaced one switch for another one that i was given but neither of them flash on the switch.

you have obviously checked the bulb in the back?
