Gearbox issues

I have a 5 speed diesel (don't know the code off hand) but i have problems getting out of reverse, 2nd and 4th...
And ideas?

linkage alignment....its all the top gears?? (i mean along the top of the gear stick as opposed to 1, 3 and 5 along the bottom)

But would that not stop them from going in either??

I have the same problem. Goes in reverse, 2nd and 4th easily enough - real pig getting back out though.
