Hi

Managed to burn out my drinking water pump over the bast coulple of weeks.Thought it was due to the pump freezing up BUT looks like the tap may have developed a fault that caused the pump to run continuously have took it off but cant actually see anything at broken does anyone have a clue as to what the working parts of a westie tap are supposed to look like?

i had the same problem - i couldnt turn the tap off so as an interim measure i disconnected/reconnected the wire from the tap to the pump as and when i wanted it to work

to fix it i just fiddled about a bit. i think that the tap isnt a valve which shuts of the water - its more a switch which sets the pump going. once i worked out what needed to touch what in order to turn the tap on/off i fiddled with it until it worked again.

i know that seems unhelpful but i havent got the van at home at present and cant remember exactly what i did. either way it was a cutlery draw out job and half an hour spent upside down under the unit swearing gently to myself :)

HI

I have fiddled about too got the tap off and decided that a bit of plastic that operates the switch is broken ....While looking out at my garden i saw the bit off a rocket that protects the fuse (left from Nov / new year when i let a lot of big rockets off) and thought ....mmmm...after a bit of trimming fits perfect switch works. All i got to do is put it all back together .......Fiddling sometimes gets results
thanks for your reply.
