rev counter can anyone tell me how its wired up, i no the short black wire gos to ground and the short red is to the dash lights (i think) long black to ground long red to ignition but where did you wire up the green to, do you have to run a wire to the coil (-) side or is there some where in the cab (fuse box or dash) it can go as i am not to sure i have a 1987 wc 1915cc petrol van cheers for any help you can give me.

if you have bod dash then the wire from the coil is already up there just link in to that. if you dont then i think its a wire run to the rear job.
sure its on the wiki somewhere.

Yours being a 1987 should have the 'buzzer of doom' in the dashboard. This requires a RPM tacho signal and is located at the Dash edge multiconnector pin 9. You can link into that. Count from the drivers door side of the connector, colour code Green (next to black and remember that pin 5 has no wire so include that when counting.

would this be the wire to disconnect and put some insulating tape round - if your oil pressure was fine - but you were getting the buzzer of doom sound effects? Is it usually green?

Depends on why the BOD is sounding. If the DOP PCB (the buzzer of doom circuit) or the flexible membrane circuit is faulty then it may still sound. If the High oil level pressure switch is not closing and the circuit receives RPM pulses that exceed 200RPM then it will also sound. So, disconnecting the wire in this instance should fool the DOPs into thinking that the rpm is low. Never tried it but theoretically should work. Alternatively, permanently ground the wire at the high oil pressure switch (close to the water pump) and see if that cures the problem. You may only need to replace the switch (with the corrct type). The only other alternative is to modify the oil pressure warning circuit to the pre-86 spec........warning LED directly controlled by the low oil pressure Switch and no BOD.
