Eber help again

After fitting my eber to the van last week after new switches and plug it gets warm ( not hot). It doesn't seem to warm the van although I have never experienced how hot they can get I hear they can melt ice on windscreens mine won't even take the steam off your breath.

Well anway I am getting exhaust, the fan is working on it's first ? Stage, lower than when it initially fires. But then cuts out after 15 mins off running and that's with the engine running so I know the voltage is fine as it fires first time.

Any ideas any where please it's doing my head in now and it's cold on a morning over here.

Thanks in advance phil

i`m no expert on these heaters but i`m learning as much as i can as mine is playing up.

could it need a decoke if its fired up and not producing heat i`m guessing the heat from the combustion chamber may not be passing through to the air side.????????

what model is it and can you get any fault codes from it.

Cheers for the reply again I've not had it off yet but tried it again today whilst on the van.

There seems to be lot of smoke which stinks could it be possibly overfuelling and flooding itself?

Still luke warm no heat and there is a slight hole in the exhaust could this also cause any symptoms?

I think a wee hole on the exhaust at this stage won't be causing much of a problem , did you replace the plug ? (sorry can't be bother to re-read your other thread  ) , also does the petrol ebber have a plug filter ?

Are you sure? The B2L is a petrol model. The D2L is a diesel.

It sounds to me that the eber isnt firing up. The fan may be running, but that could be to do with the startup/shutdown sequence they have.

I suppose the wrong fuel could cause that

no lol def diesel i thought thats generic b2l ok so its aD2L

would there be a lot of white smoke if it didnt fire, we have puffing billys kero drips down a tube cause ingnition then the backdraft keeps it going, do these work on the same principle??

Ok so you had it running out of the van ? yes ? no smoke and heat ?
you have replaced it back in the van ? smoke and little heat ?

is it on a mounting plate or just bolted to the van ? try loosing the bolts a few turns

also check the fuel pipe connectors are nice and tight , not sucking air in

Silly question Phil but have you mounted it the right way up? I have the D1lc and its only supposed to be mounted with the exhaust outlet down or at 90 degrees. So that the glow plug is always at the top.

Sorry for the late reply drunken night, it was running hot outside the van but when mounted little heat lots of smoke, the unit is mounted with the inlet and exhaust at 90 deg?

I am going to strip it the weekend to de coke the unit.

What type of gasket are they, are they specialist or can they easily be knocked up?
