Hi,

Can anyone recommend a gas alarm that i can fit in the van? Basically, if theres a leak from my gas bottle (camping Gaz) i want to be woken up by an alarm.

I've had a look on ebay and there doesnt apear to be a great deal around - wondered if anyone had any experiences on here.

I did a search for "gas" and it returned zero results (???).

Thanks dudes,

Ringo

not sure if an alarm would work, butane is heavier than air so drops out the vents you should have in the bottom of cupboards before it fills the cabin up so if you had an alarm it would have to be mounted low down in the camper, surely a carbon monoxide monitor would be the better option? just a thought

Thats a fair comment - however, i got in the van the other day and it stank of gas. No idea where it came from or indeed if it came from the van at all. As a precaution i turned my gas off and have not smelt gas since.

10 hours previous to this i was asleep in the van.

Carbon monoxide alarm - would that have gone off?

Cheers,

Ringo

Not giving off that gas so doubt it. Your going to have to chase your gas lines with some water with a drop of fairy liquid me ginger Brover from a different Muver

I have both got the Gas Alarm form Lidi Last summer have them on every now and again. Will keep an eye out for them.

Detects methane, propane and butane gas even in very low concentrations
With loud 85dB alarm and red alert light
Mains operated or with 12V in car power supply

Was only a tenner.
