pop top canvas thermal protection???

Hi All,

Apologies for the vague subject line! I seem to remember seeing, somewhere(!!), that you can get a thermal fitting for the inside of the pop top canvas so that it doesn't get quite so cold when sleeping up top. Has anyone else heard of this & if so where would I get a set from??

Many thanks.

Outside thermal wraps are a much better idea as they effectively weatherproof the canvas AS WELL as giving insulation.

Thanks for the advice guys. I can't get onto the picture link in Brickwerks to see the product but will try later, unless you know where I can find another pic?

Also, isn't it a bit difficult to get up on the outside to wrap this around the canvas?

Matt,
Dont think the pic link is working to be honest.
They are not too bad to put on, we open the front doors and step onto the part by the seat and the back is at a reachable level although i am 6'4" and the wife is 6' so we find it quite easy.
If you want an internal one have you thought of making your own, when we had trailer tents they had a cotton lining that attached to the roof part of the tent and they did make a lot of difference with the heat, it made a buffer layer of medium air against the cold air.

Thanks Andy,

6'4" is about 8" taller than me & much much more than my wife!!!!

I wouldn't have thought about making them I must admit. I was under the impression they were of a similar ilk to the thermal window mats, a bit stiffer & thicker than tent material, and would fit into the raised metal groove at the bottom of the canvas roof and hold in at the top with friction (inside I'm referring to)? How do they fasten to the outside and does that small tent canvas thickness make that much difference? I suppose it must do?

There are a few subtle differences depending on where you purchase it from but they all look pretty similar to this one on Jeds Synco.

Mine a Brickwerks one, very good they are too. I dont even bother with a bungie round the back ether as it just stays their.
