Hi - hubby's van 2.1Dj running on carb.

water leak - seems to be dripping from the water pump pulley - so is that the pump needing replacing, or the bolt doing up?

Thanks for all comments

Sounds like the spindle seal has let go - the water's exiting through the bearings...bin time!
I'll try to bring good news next time

same lesk that i had on my doka. had to replace the pump, dont forget to order a new gaskit where the pump and the main metle water pipe bolt together. only a few pennies but you will never get the old one off in a reuseable condishion.

Hi i had a slight drip from my water pump same place. I put in some rad weld and its been ok for 6 months. Worth a try for about £4. :ok

If you want to try an old fashioned trick add some brake fluid to the coolant it softens up the rubber and often will sort a leaky pump , But not always :)

take off the fan belt and try moving the pully mine wiggled like made and loads of water poured out, got a new one from brickwerks, it was a combi one so if you get one and work out how you are supposed to seal the bolt which goes into the unused hole let me know I still get drips from there.

Thanks for all the comments - have sourced a new 1.9 one (yes, that's what we need as we don't run the oil cooler on the engine) so hopefully collect tomorrow am, and maybe even fit it tomorrow - that's up to hubby.
