Got it at last..... now its home!

I have been after a particular Syncro for about 3 years now. Its special because its an original Irish van ( one of six I believe) that was registered in December 1993 (is it the last registered one ?) and was converted to a bus with aftermarket windows cut into it. One owner, TD, square lights, stored these last 6 years and thats about it except it has battleship mileage on it and no rust.
Tonight the owner and I finally came to an agreement ...................
Result
..... and I even got a crashed LHD one thrown in as well

The original barn find. This I will restore and bring it back to the van it started out as.
You can just see the registration in this shot ... 93-CW-1163 It was registered on 11/12/1993 in Co. Carlow (CW)
This one is a scrapper ....... Once belonged to a German chap called Lutz who lived near me once upon a time but he crashed it, buckling the shell

Make sure they don't scratch the paint work when it's hauled out from there!
How long had you known about these vehicles? - I had to wait two years from the time I first saw my DOKA to the day I was directing the recovery truck to the back end of nowhere in Gloucerstershire!

The red one, a multivan, as I say, lived in the next village. It got crashed and was partially stripped. It is badly buckled underneath, so bad in fact, the input shaft in the front diff snapped in two. I have that as a memento! I have the two front seats in my multivan. It then disappeared about 5 years ago. The white one is a one owner vehicle and is the last registered Syncro in Ireland. I first saw it about 10 years ago and tried to buy it then. About 6 years ago it seems to have been fitted with a Vento 1.9 n/a engine, maybe a 1Y but it was subsequently turbo'd. The front outer CV joint collapsed 5 years ago and it was pushed into the shed it is in now. About a year ago the red one joined the white one as a doner but the resto project never got off the ground.

Hehehehe.... ya b'stard

Tell me again what those half circle raised bits are beautifully moulded under the blue sticker on the windscreen? Unfortunately having two Syncros with the wheel on the "wrong side" i dont have the correct black spacers were your vans windscreen wipers are on my vans

got this one in my sights now. Its a low mileage example with an AAZ fitted and was used as a camera car by our national broadcaster
It is totally rust free but has all sorts of holes cut into the body and loads of bracketry inside. Ive known about it for a while but only found out where it lived about 6 months ago. Its just got an MOT so it will be a year till I get it at least

Great project, have syncros finally turned the corner now? A year or two back that would definately be heading for cj's grinder.
You know when a cars a classic is when they stop being cut up for spares & are put into years of ball ache resto. Never see early bay or splitties cut up. (unless bent & twisted)
