Hi

Having got my eber off and taken it to bits ( as far as is sensible) I stood there looking at it wondering Could the welding that my van has had over the years have fried the circuits to a point where i am wasting my time trying to get it up and running ?

theres a possibility, was the battery lead disconnected during welding? normally blows the diodes in the alternator.
