This van is back on ebay is it any good ?

Judging by the pictures alone, it looks promising. If all the drive train components are there and fundamentally o.k. (even if stuff like diff-locks are not functioning correctly at present) then I would pay £2500 for it.

Same as any Syncro through, money pit!

Cleaned up well. Not many interior shots though......Chicken kop?

I went and had a look at it a month or so ago, It was dark so more of quick scan than a proper 'survey'.. I understand what Russel is saying, there are plenty of things to keep you busy in there, OK if you can take it on yourself or have pots of cash to throw at a specialist. It seemed a good runner, both diff locks seemed to work although I didn't have a chance to do the VC test on it. It has a set of BFG's fitted on it's 14' rims, the spare wheel carrier is a bit shonky and has damaged the bodywork where it opens. There have been a few attempts at 'repairing' seam rust, mainly around the rear wheel arch on the RHS. Also there is rust around the windows where they were carefully fitted by Devon. The Interior is bare apart from the bench seat/bed that isn't much cop. Three seats at the front. There are a couple eighties pop-out sunroofs fitted.
Probably best described as an honest moneypit, It is a runner, has an MOT and you mat well get some fun out of it before having to spend too much on it!

Thats as distinct from the more usual dishonest money pit ?

Hey, I was surprised to see this post.....

Turns out I've just bought this van just over 2 weeks ago. This is my 2nd T25 project.

Body's pretty rusty but nothing that cant be sorted out with time, metal and a welder. All 4x4 equipment (VC, DIFFS, etc) work as they should thankfully.

Came with a 1.6TD JX engine which is being "attended to" right now (alternator bushes fixed the no charge issue and dodgy rev-counter, glow plugs and new diesel injector thing sorted the cold start and smoke problem and the right oil pressure switch sorted the DOPS (BOD) which is now NOT earthed and working properly as wrong one was fitted).

Eventually the JX engine will be replaced by an AAZ engine (when I can finally get my hands on one).

I've already ripped out the interior, resprayed it and have nearly finished redoing the panels and insulation (Turquoise leather/original perforated white vinyl) and the Mercedes SL500 AMG front seats and modified rails are ready to bolt in.

Interior was already very well flashbanded so the van is quiet and with not much vibration even over the roughest roads and speedbumps.

Brakes are shot though. Currently looking for ways to fit rear disc brakes if anyone's got any tidy hints/tips?

Also welding together a nice roof rail for the future roof tent.

Overall its gonna be a lot of work but I've always wanted a Syncro and at least I'll have it "just the way I want it"...
