Alright!
I am trying to convert my 1983 panel van into a surf van looking thing. I have recently aquired a sliding door wih a window in but am struggling with the opposite side. I want to fit a recessed carravelle sliding window, instead of the conversion window. I have the frame that was cut out of a factory camper and would like it welded into the side of my van. Just like that i hear you say! Is this a totally impossible task? If not would you know anyone in the kent area that would take it on? The rest of the conversion is sort of on hold till i get this done, so any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers Mark

Not impossible, It's the sort of thing that does get done when you have got rotten windowframes. I'm sure that an experienced van restorer (Damien?) wouldn't run away screaming.

No problems, if anything it easier than repairing a converted panel van. As long as the frames have been cut out with a fair bit of spare flat metal.

I did it myself at home. If you take your ime and dont rush it goes ok. All i used was angle grinder with 1mm blades, welder and a joggler. Just be careful and think before you cut. If you want any more info just p.m. me.
