I bought a second hand high top for my panel van and with it, was plywood lining for along the sides with cut outs for the windows.(one needs relacing as it was rotten :( .) There was also ply lining around the skylight but that was it. Should the rest of the roof(above and at the sides of the cupboards-front and rear) be ply lined before carpeting or is carpeting straight onto the fibreglass sufficient?

When I did mine, i stuck 25mm battens to the glass fibre roof, then filled all gaps with 25mm Kingspan insulation. Then using 4mm ply covered in lining caprt screwed to the batterns toasty and warm plus hardly and noise passes through!
