Afternoon readers

First of all - Happy New Year for tomorrow - have a good one :ok

Just building up to start the refit of me van (had it resprayed this summer so all the windows had to come out along with the rubbers). I've noticed gaps in the window seals, am I missing something here to ensure a snug fit on the rubbers :?: Take a look for yourself:

The van (85 1.9DG Holdsworth Villa 3 pop top) started off life with the windows fiited in the factory apart from the slidder which must have been fitted by Holdsworth. Any ideas whats missing and where can I get them from please :?:

Have a good one and Happy 2010

Common enough problem. eons ago most cars had their screens etc fixed in the same way, If we exclude cutting too short as in new rubber then with age the rubber hardens and shrinks,

When refitting stretch the rubber round the glass and keep in tention with the cord you use for fitting, ( I have in the past superglued the two halves together) if you still cant close the gap then stick some dum dum in and then fit the tensioning bead(insert) so the join is opposite this gap.

For what its worth I dont recall ever having to replace one due to not being able to grab a 1/4" of stretch..
