Does anyone know if you need to have a rear bumper on a t25 to get it through its MOT. Mine is bent to hell, and i kind of like the look of it without one. Cheers, Ju

Doesn't it depend on if htee are any sharpish edges sticking out that could injure people? (thats if they were daft enough to stand too close)

Sharp edges must technically be caused by corrosion or damage to fail an MOT. To the letter of the law you cannot be failed on those sticky-out flappy things.
Ju, you might get through an MOT.
Clive FFS get a towbar on it before the next Syncronauts event. Vehicles can fail scrutineering for having no rear recovery point, you know.

So, remove the bumper?

Sharp edges must technically be caused by corrosion or damage to fail an MOT.
Hence a garage will fail a bumper with the endcaps not on it. An option is to plate over the ends of the bumpers - cheaper than endcaps and much tougher to tear off the end.

Even though there is a sharp edge when the end cap is missing its not the result of accident or corrosion so its a pass and advise, lots of testers make their own rules up as they go along. If it had half an end cap which resulted in a sharp edge then thats a fail because of accident damge.

mine passed with no end cap, it disappeared on the way, but i found it and put it back on the way back!
if you bumper is bent, doesn't that tell you something? its there for a reason! ( and clives no bumper approach has cost him two taillight glasses too!)

S'all in the interpretation, innit.
