We are camping over Christmas - tis going to be cold (-5 allegedly). Does anyone know if the porta potty will freeze or do the chemicals prevent this??

Cheers

the floaters will do a good job of keeping the water moving and therefore not freezing .especially if you make that all can stew again

Too much information! Anyway We keep a container of fresh water under the rock and roll bed for use when our tank runs dry remote from a fiiler point. The van has been standing outside in this recent cold spell and it was not frozen this morning. I would suggest that your bog if in a cupboard or at least within the vehicle would take too long to freeze especially if you are using the van. I guess you could do a test with clean Loo Bloo and Flushing water smellie by putting some in your freezer. I would leave out the "floaters" though :rofl

If you're worried about it, add two or three tablespoons of kitchen salt to the water.... it won't freeze then. :D

Fresh (flush) water tank will freeze at the sub 0 temps in many parts of country. Waste tank with chemical in it won't.

Has Mr P been giving away my secrets!

Heater is on the list but it keeps being overtaken by other things - probably the brake problem next  . Still we were toasty and warm over Christmas - and no it didn't freeze - it was probably 90% proof anyway!! Thanks! :ok :ok
