As you might know from the "Wheels" thread I am looking for some AT tyres (and also the missing 5th merc steel wheel, but thats another issue).

If anyone comes across any great bargains out there then drop me a line or post details here, since i'm sure plenty of other Syncro owners would be interested too!!!!
:ok

I'm using Kumho KL 78 AT tyres (195 R 15 on Merc steels) which seem ok for the road. Not tried them off road yet.

Reviews seem +ve (eg http://www.tyretest.com/4x4_reifen/kumh ... index.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) and they were less than £50 each in September.

I'm Thinking of going here:-

Certainly seem to have a good range. A guy in Germay swares by Falcon LA/AT which they sell.

Just don't look as cool as the BFGs though!

Let me know how you get on and vica versa.

I bought my tyres from Camskill. Good company. Good communication and delivered my Hankook Dynapro ATm tyres quickly considering they had to order them in (unusual size)

Local to you... yes.. either ask about(mates, down your pub, local garage etc) and see if you have a friendly local independant tyre place, or poss see your local part worn peeps as they are more likely to be receptive to fiting and balancing tyres for cash...

More details re my post above. I used a local tyre place in Rugby who are normally good value :D.
B T Tyres
58 Albert St, Rugby, CV21 2RH
Telephone: 01788 550045

Tyres were £180 for the 4, fitted and balanced, Sept 2009. They ordered them in, it took a couple of days and they did say that supplies & prices were "fluctuating". They are absolutley fine on the road, good grip wet and dry - and quiet. They are also the correct rating for syncros 8) though the Merc steels are maybe not perfect.

All my local places wanted £10 per tyre to fit mail ordered ones and I couldnt find any mail order tyres at £35 each, delivered, so it was a bit of a no-brainer.......

Worth checking with local tyre fitters, especially independent ones.
