New Van, been told "must fit initia belts"

Hi there, relative new to this forum but could do with some advise. Picked up a 84 westy water-cooled but it has lap belts fitted to the R&R bed. We have a two year old and I need to fit initia belts so the child seat will go in safely. I have seen JK sell a kit but was wondering what the job is like and has anyone out there done this conversion. Any help will be appreciated or a link to where i should have looked in the first place.

Cheers

You don't need inertia belts to fit child seats safely.

There are many on here who have been through this exact problem - there are several child seats that fit perfectly with a lapbelt - and are designed for such. They have been tested by my 1 and three year old and continue to be..... :D

If you do a search for "seatbelts" you will find a range of answers.
Here is one I prepared earlier.....

If you do decide to go with a three/four point. I have gone that way too on the passenger side for now - as for child booster seats (typically from3-4 years old) then here is a link for starters....

Good luck whichever way you go - a van is perfect for a small family IMHO.

I fitted a seat belt from a golf for my sons car seat. The seat belt is short but is just long enough for his recaro seat wich is really big.

There should be a mounting point for the seat belt bracket just behind the sliding windon. It will have a blanking thingy which just unscrews. Mount the cassette lower down behind the card. Pretty easy.

Can add pics if needed.

Click the following link for a pictorial guide to fitting the excellent Brickwerks long (so long it goes round a rear facing childseat) rear seatbelt.
