I live on the IOW but work in london every other week. I drive 200 miles round trip and sleep in my autosleeper. I am rather obsessed with fuel economy (my second vehicle is a bicycle) and i drive my Hreg 2.1 petrol T25 like a granny for that reason. sat at a steady 55mph on the motorway and delicate use of throttle around town I return 34mpg, increase to 60mph and over the same journey it returns 29mpg. after all the horror stories i had read about T25 economy or lack of, i am very happy with what i can exctract from mine.

Was it a petrol or a Diesel shell ? (there are some differences)

Have you considered a Scooby conversion ?

Given a blank canvas I'd be tempted by a 5 pot Audi (oooh the noise  ) possibly hooked up to an auto if I was honest if only to spare the gearbox the trauma. I know a couple of people who happily have the Subaru engine but I'd still prefer the 5 pot symphony.

Nowt wrong with a good DJ though all the same

Ian.
