The reversing light switch for an auto is basicaly a couple of bent copper contacts on the gear selector lever.
I dont think Brickwerks have them????
Can you not fabricate a new one?

You are describing an inhibitor switch that also contains the reversing light switch. Possibly its all one possibly the reversing light switch is a seperate entity contained within it. Never taken one apart so I cannot say. HOWEVER if you cannot get/make/repair/bodge one that fit a switch on the dash with a warning light that can only be switched on with the switched accessories (A2) on key. perfectly legal and allows use of the reversing lights to see what you are doing at the rear of the vehicle when stationary.

As I said above, the switch is a very simple afair of fixed copper contacts and a sliding bar fixed to the gear selector.
If I remember from mine, there are contacts for the starter inhibitor and separate contacts for the reversing lights.
Fairly simple to adjust or bodge.
