Very, very lazy.....

Hi all,
What with the rubbish weather and 2 kids who demand entertaining 24 hours a day I haven't been able to get out and wash the van for a while. I was wondering whether anyone had had any particular problems after taking their van to one of those drive through jet wash type places where they cover your car in some sort of highly toxic looking foam then use a high pressure washer to rinse it down.
Particularly concerned about pop top and louvre leakage.......
Ta.

Ya you are very lazy

Get the kids outside with you and wash it together, its always a good way to keep an eye on the bodywork to see whats going on

Using a high pressure wash can be an 'interesting' or even 'enlightening' experience with a 20-odd year old van

and not to undertaken lightly !

Consider the 'rubbish weather' as a bonus! You don't have to rinse the soapy water off. If you do the job like I do, you will get soaked anyway, so what's the difference if it's raining?
It's like the kids on the beach in the summer! 'I can't go for a swim - it's raining!'

I know someone who took his MkII Crapi through one of then new-fangled automatique carwashers and the brush fibres got stuck into where the aerial should've been and ripped the wing off and bashed it down the side of the car
More to be pityed than blamed I'm afraid

One of my mates took his fiesta st to one of them places, it came back missing all the vinyl down one side and half on the other side. Complained and got told to get it fixed and they'll pick up the bill. Guy at car wash wasn't inpressed when he found out it cost over £700 for ford garage to put right!!
If they can do that to super sticky vinyl what could they do to one of these vans
