Looking to buy a 3/4 width rock & roll bed. There are loads to choose from. Found a company that sells all steel beds

http://www.volkwares.co.uk

Anybody got one? Are they any good.

Also need ideas for the best way to have 3 point seats belts on a 3/4 width bed.

Cheers

Are they any good though! How do they compare to "Bluebird" beds etc for quality?

(Image link was http://www.volkswares.co.uk/Rocknroll3.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, now page not found. WikiEd)

This one doesn't have the rigid base frame or boards that the Bluebird does.

Hi, I have the following type of 3 seater seat mechanism in my Van.

(Old lost image http://img1.iwascoding.de/2/2009/09/27/ ... 26961B.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; WikiEd)

I've seen it advertised on ebay as a bed but not folded out? I been pulling on it, but it wont budge? Can this mechanism really be folded out flat?

I can't comment on the caravelle rear seat/bed per see but the Bluebird RnR 'fixed' points have to be solid so the mechanism can work.

Hi, got the bench out today and need to install again to check what was wrong with it, could be that the lower seat belt harness was fitted incorrecty, therefore preventing the bench from being pulled out.

But regarding 3 point seat belts (i know there are a few posts on here about them), in my caravelle, there is a 2nd mounting point (left on picture, right is the bench top mount), which I can use the for the seat belts then, right?

My Leisuredrive had a Rock & Roll bed installed which was based on Approx 1" square section tubes which slid out so the back could become part of the bed. I ditched all this and after sizing up the alternative proprietary systems made my own using no mechanism at all. I simply latch bolt the seat back in the up position when it is a seat and pull it down and foreword on its back as a bed. I have a kind of duplicate (no foam) board hinged to the floor and the top of the seat back which controls how far forward the seat back can go. What was the seat base is simply lifted over to level it all out and fill the gap between the engine cover foam and the slid down and forward seat back. As only about six inches hangs over we find no need for any supporting/restraining mechanism whatsoever. Another advantage is you don't loose that four to six inches headroom under the rear section. If anyone is really interested I would post a sketch/photo.

(In order to keep the ladies up to date it is all covered in a light blue/grey Dralon.) :ok

Regarding my Caravelle fold down bench, reinstalled today and I guess the seats belts were installed wrong, preventing it from folding out correctly because, as I said before, I pulled and pulled on that thing, but nothing budged. Now works nicely.
