Accelerator pedal parts company with the floor..

Driving home the other day, pressed the accelerator pedal on my 1990 auto Caravelle and it all went very wrong.. In the middle of a 6 lane crossroad, the pedal parted company with the floor. The two ali. rivets holding the pedal to the floor must have corroded through. AA man arrived and replaced the rivets with steel bolts (cutting a thread as they went through, no access from underneath). Might be worth checking your rivets and maybe replace to be on the safe side. :ok
