replacing clutch cable

the old clutch cable is so knackered that the wing nut won`t even move
so do i just cut the old cable and replace
but how tight should the wingnut be

this happened to mine, i just cut it and then got the old wingnut off in a vice.
I'm pretty sure i just then took the slack up and kept turning the wingnut until the clutch was biting about right.

Its the same adjustment as the Beetle:

cheers m8 but just bought one from heritage
