Been gradually changing the bushes on the front of the panel to solve the squeek i get when hitting speed bumps or ramps etc... so far ive replace the suspension for the adjustable avo shocks and 70mm springs ARB lower bushes, Anti role bar bushes but still got the steering rack ones to do (keep forgetting to take them out of the packet.lol) All my new bushes are the Purple Powerflex ones from Simon at Brickwerks...

All that seems to be left is the upper ARB bushes but they look like they're pressed in, are they something i can do at home or are they an absolute nightmare that i should get my local mechanic to do them? Would it also be worth doing the ball joints over the winter just incase its one of them???

do you mean the top wishbone bushes??
if so they are tacked in too

to remove you gotta get the wishbone off, grind the tacks off, press old ones out press newones in and tack em to stop em moving.

I did mine a few weeks ago. I did mine at home without special tools or removing the arb. Needs some brute force applied. I found fitting them in the drop links first then sofened them by dunking in warm water then BFI'd them onto the arb before refastening the bottoms. Took less than 30mins total. The difference was also suprising. I already have poly bushes everwhere else but these made a further noticable improvement to stability.

It is an early panel by the way...

Do it all at the same time, upper & lower balljoints, wishbone bushes, trackrod ends .... you'll need the camber resetting correctly too though.

cheers guys, actually ive still got the wish bones to do but they are original so i wont bother trying i'll get them done in the new year with the upper and lower ball joints... I did forget to mention that i've already done the track rod ends as they had almost seized when i got her...

Im suprised that the upper ARB bushes are that easy but saying tha i didnt want start and be unable to get them finished... i shall get them ordered now

The squeeking will be 100% the upper wishbone bushes, when you say it's easy you still need to reset the camber .... which you'll need a camber guage for OR send it to Si Baxter and let him do it.

Or put it on level ground and get front wheels absolutely vertical, rolling it back and forards to make sure. T'aint rocket science.
