ok dudes,i was told the auto choke was stuck on in me carb hence the cutting out between gears.now thats been sorted and the HT's put back in the right order the van drives like crap but dont stall between gears ! when the HTs were in the wrong order it would pull great but cut out between gear, now there are correct to the haynes manual it pulls like a slug? just seems to rev really high and go nowhere, i cant get near 4th gear as it wont go fast enough. . .

ive pulled the spark plugs out to clean em and look at em, two were well black and the other two were grey? is that right, have something to do with it ?

rev high and pull like a slug sounds like ignition out of sync with engine - ie way too far retarded/advanced.

i wish i knew wat that meant lol

well at least i guess i can drive to a garage in 2nd gear . . . .

failing that, into a canal . . . .

Get a strobe light (or borrow one) and check your timing.
