Been toyling with the idea of selling my early panel to get a new modern car but i really dont want to sell her and looking on fleabay today i fell apon this advert for a 2.0ltr 1999 subaru set-up for Aircooled t25's. If this is fesable it could be the compromise i'd need to keep the van...

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-T25-and-camper ... 4838040f20

So really what im asking is, is there a conversion for an Aircooled 2.0 using the existing gearbox? As much as the subaru seems a good idea im hugely worried about the overall cost and time it would take no to mention weither the gearbox could handle the extra power...

Cheers Guys any help would be apprieciated...

Have you looked on the Wiki. Up there ^^^^^

There's a whole section on alternative engines. The Subaru is quite a common conversion.

Alright scott. didn't know you had an early panel. and you may sell hmm..could be in the market 8) only difficultly in converting a/c vans to watercooled set up is they have no cooling system adding many man hours or cash money to the whole project

cheers kev
