When I turn left and accelerate I get a knocking from rear left. Could this be the drive shaft or something?
Cheers
Tom

No
Although this will be useful when you decide to deal with the job.

A short-term winter measure can be sought by pumping fresh grease into the gaiters if you don't have time/money right now and just want them to shut up but these things are best done as sets - ie you'll need 4 CV joints

Been too cold to sort this out. A friend said it is the wheel bearing. Only knocks when I'm turning an accelerating.

try greasing them with moli grease before replacing the cv joints mine has done this every year, if i have not used it for a few months don't run it whilst it has a knocking issue, as it will ruin the cv joints. it feels like the back end of the van is moving.
does it run fine if you drive carefully eg not putting the power down on hills / corners?
by the way if you struggle with undoing the cv joints as they are allen bolts as standard when you change them change them to "star" or "torx" bolts. I removed my drive shafts by grinding off the heads of the allen bolts, then under pressure I undid the remaining studs with my fingers.
