thinking of getting a jp stainless exhaust, I think some people on here have one. Is it OK and how many silencer brackets are required is it one or two as I haven't any and they are pricey.

I had one put on my old van the 1.9dg, it ended up with just 1 bracket on the box but really needed 2, i think it ended up with a piece of suitable wire holding it.

It was a lovely exhaust but only was on there a year I think before I sold the van.

They are fine, with a few provisos. The sections join using sleeve connections (not bolted flanges) which are secured by U-shaped clamps. These are not stainless and rust quickly. I'm already on my second set.

The tailpipe is a bit long and sticks out more than is ideal on a Syncro. This can be fixed with a hacksaw, but ideally JP should copy the proper factory Syncro tailpipe shape.

Finally yes they use the two standard VW muffler supports, which corrode quickly in contact with stainless due to the electroytic action. Ideally, on assembly some special anti-electrolytic-corrosion paste (eg. Duralac) could be put between these two parts.
