Eccentric Washers (16")

Ay up,
I was gonna order some new eccentric washers from VW Commercial, when I rang up I was told I have the option of 4/5/5.5mm thick! I checked the ones I took off and sure enough, I had 5 & 5.5mm thick washers in my 'tin of bits'.
Firstly, are two different sizes, 5 & 5.5mm correct for a 16"?
If so, which one fits at which end of the long cheese head bolt (assuming it's critical)?

I presume you mean the eccentric washers for the camber adjustment on the front suspension.
The different thickness washers are to adjust the play between the top link, and the body mounting.
My Bentley is not next to me, but I seem to remember 0.5mm max play side to side, adjusted with those shims.
The way around the washers go is not critical as it will only slightly effect the castor angle, which few seem to worry about, other than to stop wheels rubbing on the arches.
Simon.

Cheers for the info Simon. I spoke to VW Commercial, and the only thickness they do is 5mm, 4 & 5.5 are obsolete. Does anyone else do these?

Syncrospares may well have a few lying around.
What happened to yours?

A bit rusty, they can be cleaned up but for the relatively low cost I thought of just buying a new set, however, if it's gonna turn out to be a pain I'll put the wire brush to some good use.

I've got some new ones in all sizes here I'd have to check which sizes I have 4 of, probably the thinner ones, I've got the used ones that were replaced too and they are ok to reuse
