Door security

Hi
Firstly I would say that I am not asking anyone to give details of any personal security secrets in an open forum.
I am concerned that the standard cab door/sliding door locks seem very sloppy and easily opened. We have a Thatcham II alarm/imobiliser with internal movement sensors, and I am conversant with other methods of disabling engines.
I realise that a bar can be fitted between the cab doors, or a chain, but its a hassle when going to the shops.
Are there any additional locks that are easily added to the cab doors, and what about the sliding door.
Thanks

So you get all that and some thug lobs half a housebrick, or takes a hammer through the side window which are easily busted.
I would stop at the immobiliser, rather than have the van doors and windows trashed with attempts to get in.
which are difficult to replace these days.
just my ten pence
If I had to really do it then the cab bar would be my favourite

Hi Kev
Thanks for the reply. I fully see your point of view but what I am bothered about is the insurance company if the inside gets trashed, or stuff stolen saying the vehicle was not properly secured. I was hoping someone might have a solution that did not involve padbolts on the outside of the doors like Mr Beans mini.

I often use a small ratchet strap across the front doors on the handles then use the sliding door as an entry piont plus thats rigged to the alarm so will scream out if opened!

Try this method of security which tends to put the more determined toe rags off....

Hi Fritz that looks very efficient. I wonder if it has the correct throw etc for a T25, but I am now thinking along the lines of deadlocks generally.........
james the ratchet strap is neat and effective for short term, thanks.
