Engine-bay solenoid valve orientation

I would be inclined to put the inlet at the bottom, and the outlet at the top, but in this case, that would result in the line to the vaporiser taking a roundabout route. So does it really matter which way up I place that valve ? (It's the one with a built-in round filter element.)

Yes it does, the unit will have direction arrows on it either stamped or cast in it, the solenoid valve must have pressure to the rubber face of the plunger not to the back of it.

Hi Steve, I've noticed the flow arrows cast into the valves housing, but what about the valves orientation ?

Makes no difference, just make it easy to get to the filter unit for maintenance
