Hi guys

What's the best cleaning product for a grubby white glass fibre roof

Was thinking a bit of jif would do the trick:?:

Am I right or am I nuts

Yep jif warm water and a scrubbing brush should get it looking nice and fresh

It will but its scratchy stuff. I'd finish with T-cut to at least stop the moss from sticking so easily afterwards and then a good wax.

Bleachy water worked wonders

Yep - kills mildew and moss does bleach. T-cut good for slowing down any reoccurence though.

There's a chemical called viro-sol that is citrus based that would be quite good foor cleaning various items on vehicle's we use it to clean concervatory roofs it also very good on alloy wheels its about £13.00 + postage for 2x5tr's you can get it from The Cleaning Warehouse in Wolverhampton they also offer a mix and match where you could have 5ltr of viro-sol and 5ltr of comet (interior upholstery shampoo ) there no. is 01902 307070

I have used this, and also another product called Muck Off for getting rid of Mildew Green litchen etc,

Will get the step ladder out and get cleaning next weekend.

We use something called barkeeps friend, someone gave us it, it does an amazing job of cleaning gunk from the enamal paintwork on the narrowboat, even stuff thats chimney residue, and it works really well on the yacht coachroof and top sides which are fibreglass. No idea where you buy it though.

I only use Acetone for cleaning GRP Gelcoats after I have preped the the Gel surface prior to re-laminatig or Flo-Coating, (Re-Gel a damaged surface, ie Cracking or Osmosis---------------
